Website Makeover

You may have already noticed that AmendaTate.com has received a complete overhaul. I am really excited about the new design and think that you will find the simplified layout easy to navigate and pleasant to the eye.

Here are some of the new features:

-The entire designer line in now online.
It's been organized in a catalog in alphabetical order (bracelets, cufflinks, earrings, etc.) Two versions are available: a downloadable pdf file suitable for printing, or an online format complete with slide show that can be paused and a scroll bar of clickable thumbnails. There are quite a few new items - now featuring faceted genuine gemstones available in almandine garnet, amethyst, blue topaz, citrine, and peridot.

-Join the mailing list.
You can now join one of our mailing lists via the site. Options include lists for loyal customers/jewelry enthusiasts, resellers/wholesale buyers, and members of the press.

-Access to pricing.
Resellers may now access current pricing from the website. Login in to get the pricelist, or apply for a login here.

-Company information. Related company information - bio, press, studio pics, etc are now located on the about us page.

As always, I welcome your comments and suggestions regarding the site. Let me know what else you might like to be included. Also, a reminder that custom work is welcomed - engagement rings, bridal, fashion, special order limited editions, one-of-a-kinds, and more.

Getting ready for the shows...

Well, hello. And before you say anything, I realize that I haven't posted in quite some time. I suppose having a baby might be an excuse - somewhat. Anyhow, here I am, and things are going great! I feel like there are so many things to write about that they each deserve their own post. Alas, time doesn't always permit, so here's the synopsis.

First, baby Avery is sooo amazingly wonderful. I love being a mom even more than expected. It has really changed my whole life perspective. It's hard to believe that she is already 41/2 months old. Her recent milestones: rolling over, discovering her toes (and what they taste like), making "screechy" noises while either taking air in or out, and laughter, laughter, laughter! She's starting to develop her own little personality.

On a more work related note, I've just completed a new collection within my line of jewelry. The new collection features tube set faceted stones in: garnet, amethyst, blue topaz, citrine, and peridot. I'm excited about this new work, and can't wait until my site is updated (more exciting stuff showing up there soon) to share it with all of you. In the mean time, all ye faithful galleries and retailers, YOU get to see it in person at the upcoming shows. What is an artist if not ever growing?

Just for fun: "All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man's life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom.” Albert Einstein

Nextly, (yes, for my sister and all you other "english geeks," I know it's not a real word, but it's fun) packing for my upcoming wholesale shows is proving to be a challenge this time around. Since the price of gas is sky high right now, I've decided not to freight my display to show site this year. So, that means reworking, renting what I can, and packing the rest. Not to mention, I've got a lot of baby stuff to pack too! My mom is meeting me in Phila to be the designated baby sitter since my husband has to work. Yes, Avery is making the trip - not her first, but her farthest to date. Sam will join me for the NYC trip. He'll get some quality dad and daughter time.

Also, recently I've taken an apprentice. She's great! Hopefully we can work out a schedule once she's resumed her regular classes in the fall. It's nice to have company in the studio.

Much more to write... it'll have to wait for another day. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your smiling faces in Philly and NYC.
