Getting ready for the shows...

Well, hello. And before you say anything, I realize that I haven't posted in quite some time. I suppose having a baby might be an excuse - somewhat. Anyhow, here I am, and things are going great! I feel like there are so many things to write about that they each deserve their own post. Alas, time doesn't always permit, so here's the synopsis.

First, baby Avery is sooo amazingly wonderful. I love being a mom even more than expected. It has really changed my whole life perspective. It's hard to believe that she is already 41/2 months old. Her recent milestones: rolling over, discovering her toes (and what they taste like), making "screechy" noises while either taking air in or out, and laughter, laughter, laughter! She's starting to develop her own little personality.

On a more work related note, I've just completed a new collection within my line of jewelry. The new collection features tube set faceted stones in: garnet, amethyst, blue topaz, citrine, and peridot. I'm excited about this new work, and can't wait until my site is updated (more exciting stuff showing up there soon) to share it with all of you. In the mean time, all ye faithful galleries and retailers, YOU get to see it in person at the upcoming shows. What is an artist if not ever growing?

Just for fun: "All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man's life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom.” Albert Einstein

Nextly, (yes, for my sister and all you other "english geeks," I know it's not a real word, but it's fun) packing for my upcoming wholesale shows is proving to be a challenge this time around. Since the price of gas is sky high right now, I've decided not to freight my display to show site this year. So, that means reworking, renting what I can, and packing the rest. Not to mention, I've got a lot of baby stuff to pack too! My mom is meeting me in Phila to be the designated baby sitter since my husband has to work. Yes, Avery is making the trip - not her first, but her farthest to date. Sam will join me for the NYC trip. He'll get some quality dad and daughter time.

Also, recently I've taken an apprentice. She's great! Hopefully we can work out a schedule once she's resumed her regular classes in the fall. It's nice to have company in the studio.

Much more to write... it'll have to wait for another day. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your smiling faces in Philly and NYC.
